phil & ruth 9.30.11

Well this past two weeks the Walker household has been full of sickness so I'm sorry I haven't been very 'present' around here. My timelines and deadlines are all over the place - I'd hoped to blog this wedding at the beginning of the week and here we are at Friday already. Next week I am dedicating to albums until I am fully caught up on them - so if you are waiting on your design it'll appear in your inbox next week :)

Back to Phil and Ruth. What a lovely, artistic, talented couple they are. This wedding was a work of art from start to finish - from Phil's amazing stationary to all the little heartfelt touches at Larchfield - I was just blown away by how much of themselves they put into their day. This blog post is possibly my longest ever and I honestly could have blogged the same again and still felt I'd left stuff out. I can't even fathom how much work it took putting this day together and it was obviously a labour of love for both Phil and Ruth because it turned out beautifully. I am so delighted that I got to document it!

Happy Friday everyone - have a great weekend and I'll be back with another post at the start of the week :)

It's been a big week of soul searching and decision making for me. I've made a decision...a brave decision...and I'll be blogging about it in the very near future. In the meantime I thought I'd share some of Gemma and Stewart's wedding moments with you. They were married in Galgorm's Phantom House and held the reception in the new Four Seasons Suite - wow it's very impressive! Those white leather chairs with black piping - gorgeous. And perfectly suited to Gemma's colour palette :)

They thought no-one was watching... :)

*Loved* Gemma's shoes.

These cupcakes were AMAZING. Yes, I ate one. Gemma told me to. I feel it's part of my job to test these things so that I can recommend vendors to other couples ;)

I've been so excited about editing and blogging this wedding. Nik and Claire's Big Day was just amazing - I loved the classy black bridesmaid gowns, Claire's dress was stunning and her updo was wedding hair perfection. Don't get me started on the shoes. She wore the most divine Jimmy Choos...oh Mr. Choo you really do rock my world. On top of all of this gorgeousness it was a beautiful day - the sun was shining (but not too brightly), the minister at Muckamore Presbyterian Church is the nicest minister ever (he remembered my name from the last time I shot there - that's quality church customer service), the bridal party were lots of fun and the reception was at the ever-fabulous Culloden.

Enough gushing? OK, off you scroll :)

Why am I blogging at 1am? Well, it's my birthday tomorrow. And I promised my family that I would not go near my computer the entire day - not once. Not even an email check. Nothing. We are having one last big adventure before school starts on Thursday and some real life living people are going to be getting my undivided attention. And hopefully I will get a homemade card or two ;)

So to keep you going until Thursday, and to make me feel less guilty about taking a whole entire day off, I am blogging Grace and Gareth's wedding now. I'll tell you one thing about this summer for sure - my editing speed has come on in leaps and bounds. When your time is so limited you make the most of what you've got. Procrastination is a thing of the past. That's what 33-year-old Janine wasted time on. 34-year-old 'Mum' Janine - well she edits at the speed of light :)

Harry - totally gorgeous and totally hilarious :)

I'm trying to write this blog post before I head off for the bank holiday but there's a house full of husbands, kids and dogs who are making it impossible. How am I supposed to put together sentences when there's kids steering remote control Lightening McQueens in here, dogs knocking over USB hubs and husbands asking me questions about iron-on uniform labels?!

OK, door shut, here goes!

I do love weddings that are all in the one place. Eliminate the travel and you eliminate the one wedding day factor that stresses me - travel. I can't help it. When I'm driving to the bride's house I am panicking about finding it. When I'm driving to the church I'm always up against time as the bride isn't too far behind me so I am hoping I find the church, get parked and don't crash/get a flat tire/break down/etc. The travel from the church to the venue will always be angst filled - will we get there in good time for photos? Will it have started raining by the time we get there? If there's cupcakes will they let me have one?! So when I hear that a wedding is all taking place at the one venue my collective worries vanish and I know it's going to be easy :)

Claire and Glenn's day was easy. Not only are they totally lovely but so are their bridal party and all their guests. It was a really, really wet day but they still agreed to a little wander around Tullyglass Hotel's gardens with me and their sweet little brolly and we got some lovely shots.

Another lovely hair creation by Olivia Muldoon.

john & libby 8.17.11

So it's slap bang in the middle of wedding season and I am seeing white dresses in my sleep! It's so, so busy around here - Andy and I are like ships passing in the night :)

Libby and John had a fantastic day that started just a couple of miles out the road from me and ended up in The Lough Erne Golf Resort in Enniskillen. As soon as I saw Libby's parent's house I was so excited to start shooting all the details - it is just stunning (you can't half tell they own an interiors shop!). Libby had two pairs of shoes as she knew would be getting a seaplane to the resort after the ceremony...smart girl!

There was so much sparkly Helen Fitzpatrick goodness :)

I think they liked the final results of all the preparations!

This shot was kind of a mistake but I kind of like it :)

It all went a bit James Bond from here with cars and planes and practical shoes :)

I don't usually blog family photos as it can lead to me getting in trouble for leaving folk out...but I couldn't resist showing you these two of Carol and Alan. So sweet.
